Last night

Ok so last night after work I drove over to my man T's to watch a movie with him. Turns out he has shingles, he's been having pain in his left arm for the last few days and we learned it's shingles. A case of chicken pox, if you will, since he had the bone marrow transplant one of the dr's in the hospital did mention that there would be a chance he would get it. Because of the starting over factor, new immune system etc... he gets the shingles. Good thing, I've already had chicken pox TWICE in my life! Hee hee. No worries of me catching it.

So I'm pulling up on his street, I'm listening to
DELILAH on the radio and she has a woman caller on the phone/radio. This caller is talking about her 6 or 7 yr marriage and it's falling apart. Her parents don't like her husband, and her husband's parents don't like her etc etc. It's caused a lot of problems. So the caller wants to let her husband know how much she loves him and wants to have a song played for him. Delilah, on the other hand, says "NO, honey I'm playing one for you!" She proceeds to tell her that her husband needs to grow a backbone. She basically tells her of an analogy of let's say someone breaks in to her home. And the robbers want jewelry, she continues, and says, ok so the husband takes them right to the jewelry box etc. Instead of fighting for his home, his wife, family etc. Granted this could be looked at from more than one other view. However, Delilah had a point... she wanted to stress to this caller that she needs to find herself a man that won't let the opinions of mom and dad or anyone else come in between the love they have for each other. That a true man doesn't need the approval of mom and dad etc.

So this started a whirlwind of thoughts in my mind. I can relate only vice versa... it's my family, my parents that have the problems with me and whomever I'm dating etc. So I started to think perhaps I am the one who needs to grow the backbone at this time in my life. There have been times when I thought I already have one... but apparently I need to work on this myself.

Then Delilah played this song below on the radio for the caller...

Remember this?
