Hello,
I'm soooooo excited! Every little step, which actually is a huge step for me, brings me that much closer to my dream of attending school in Burbank at MUD.
I spoke via phone with Cinda, who works in the office at my apt complex, on my way to work and I informed her of my NOT renewing my apt lease. Oh wow... I can hardly believe I'm at this stage of my plan. I sign the papers this weekend that I'm ending my lease when it runs out April 30th.
So tonight Tony and I were discussing rooms for rent on Craigslist while he was looking them up and telling me which ones are available. There was a list of 24 that would allow a cat and pretty immediate move-in. So I have a little time, knowing that there are so many available. I had T send a few to my email so I could reply to these people looking for roommates. We were surprised at how close these locations are to Tony's apt. Same neighborhood! Tee hee. Across the street. T joked that it would take longer to drive from my place now to his apt (which is only approx 5-7 min) than it would to walk from one of these rooms being rented across the street from him. LOL.
I really appreciate the support and encouragement Tony is providing me through all this excitement. So much to do still... and yet soooo close.
I will be living out of two suitcases, take my pc and my cat Gizmo. That's it. So looking for a furnished room hasn't been a problem at all either. I just know it will all work out and so far it is a little too smoothly. I know this is the right thing to do. Yay!
So I'll be shopping for boxes this weekend to start packing up my books and hopefully by the next weekend around the weekend of the 15th, I should have a storage unit to start loading up.
Hey sis -Andrea, when I am at the end of the last of moving stuff out... I'd be happy to give you a lot of my food that I won't need during the move so it won't spoil, if you'd be interested? We can talk more tomorrow at lunch. I may ask you to hold onto my lovely spice-rack you and Mom gave me -and keep the spices fresh and using them -I could refill what's been used when I return. Would you do that for me? So I don't have it sitting in the storage unit? If there's anything of mine, that you would like to store at your place for your own use while I'm gone, please feel free to ask, don't hesitate ok? And MOM, you too k? Otherwise it'll just be sitting in storage. If you don't want the extra clutter, I totally understand, just thought I'd at least offer it.
I basically have six weeks to pack and move out! I hope to be out of my apt before the 30th of April. And then only May, Jun, Jul, Aug -If (big IF) I'm able to go out to Burbank for school in Sept...otherwise, it'll be additionally Sep, Oct, Nov, Dec...and in school by Jan for sure!
So if I don't leave in Aug for school in Sept, then I'll be leaving in Dec for school in Jan! YAY! It all just depends on how quickly I can have the funds applied through loans for school and have all my preparations completed. I'm also planning to save some money to bring with me in the meantime, hence the cutting expenses in half by not renewing lease and renting a room. So depends on how much I have saved additionally.
Can you feel my excitement?! I wish I could blink my eyes like a genie and blink myself there in Burbank in an instant! Going through all the little/big steps... is a bit stressful, but exciting. I seem to have a lot of energy and motivation lately. I thank Tony and my dear friends for all the support given to me. It has been extremely helpful and appreciated.
LuvY'all,
Christy :)
