This crazy world of ours

Hmmm where to start... so many thoughts playing in my mind right now.

Had a great weekend.

Saturday late night, I met up at Tony's to watch a couple videos. We rented Stardust from the video store. Then stopped at Walgreen's (as it was super late already, around 11-ish at night) to buy a few munchies/soda etc. And of course couldn't resist the temptation of just driving past Taco Bell, so we went through the drive thru and ordered a yummy unhealthy snack for a late night din din (even tho we both ate already) Lol.

Then back to his place for a fun night of chillin'. We both enjoyed Stardust and I particularly liked the whole magic of it all. Tony loves all the Harry Potter books/movies... so I figured he would like this as it was kinda magical like HP. And we both did. At a few parts I almost became teary-eyed when the Star would mention true love etc. Ahhhh I'm such a sap, I know.

We had planned to watch Matrix again as we had talked about it at Denny's Fri night/early Sat morning lol. But Tony had received a dvd or two in the mail from Netflix that he had been curious to watch, so we put it in and watched it, as I'm easily entertained and pretty much will watch anything - haha. :) (Which I'm sure Tony loves this about me-lol-to some degree I'm sure that may not be true-lol again)

So this other dvd
(http://www.thedigitalbits.com/reviews/fromtheearthtothemoon.html) was a documentary of sorts relating to the preparing of Man's first step on the moon and the creation and building of the 'Eagle' and the one(s) built for testing before it. It was rather fascinating and I really enjoyed seeing all those who participated in the film, quite many that are famous and also that were in the movie Apollo 13. Tom Hanks hosts the beginning of many segments, I don't think all of them but I don't know for sure as I only watched two dvds (2nd & 3rd, because Tony had already seen the 1st disc) on this collection. This documentary really brought the experience to life for me. To watch those who were involved in this, (granted they were actors in the film) but it brought another perspective as the viewer and learning what those involved had really gone through to be a part of history. It was amazing and I really enjoyed it.

This one looks awesome too:

I love documentaries anyway... and I love learning new things. There were some parts of it all that I had no idea about nor did I ever think about. So it was very interesting for me. And of course, Tony being as knowledgable as he is about many things, made it that much more enjoyable for me too. If I had any questions at all... he would definitely answer them. I LOVE that about him. :) (My Mr. Sparty Mants-I should start calling him that... I meant to type the other and that's what my fingers would type and it made me laugh, so I'm keeping it that way -tee hee)

After filling my poor tummy with all sorts of 'should nots' and normally 'would nots'... it was shortly time to head home and lie my head on my pillows. One would think so huh when it's between 4 and 5am sometime...I don't even remember when I left lol.

OHHHH and the RAINY SUNDAY! LUUUUUUUUUVED IT!

Anyone remember this? CLICK BELOW & ENJOY!!! :) This says it all !!!! ANDREA, remember this? (and our memories listening to it and singing/dancing along? haha this brings back so many memories for me) Andrea, you used to always say that Eddie Rabbitt was your favorite singer (I don't know if you remember that or not but you did) - so I sure hope you do remember this? Tee hee :)

Andrea, this one's for you pretty sexy 6!

GOSH, I love that song! Always have and always will- ahhhhh -sigh- moment of silence for awesome Eddie! I don't know if you know or not, but he passed away back on 07 May 1998 in (would you believe Merrianne & Spencer?)- in Nashville TN of lung cancer and he was 56. Sad huh? Ok so in honor of Eddie, here's another and it's shorter... you can actually watch him sing it, but on this version he doesn't sing the whole song it ends abruptly... but for fun click below.

OK this one is cool too- I've always loved this one:

Anyway, so on with my blog... I didn't do anything on Rainy Sunday. I sat at my computer, I watched tv and vegged... AND it was AWESOME! Being able to be at home and enjoy the rainstorm... I was in heaven! Wasn't even in the mood to read or anything... but to be home in my pjs ALLLLL DAY was marvie for me.

Of course, it definitely makes the day that much more memorable in a few more ways for me: As I learned that President Hinckley of the LDS Church passed away. And then within the same hour as PH's passing my friend Laura/Eric eloped and oooops I forgot to mention, DUH, that my other friend Kimber and Chuck eloped on Saturday. Talk about a memorable weekend!

It's kinda funny that out of all us SWAT gals (Laura, Chalysse, Kimber, Pam and Me) three of us have eloped ... I've always talked about eloping and one day will, and Pam has already been married and divorced too so it's always possible for her next marriage, I wouldn't be surprised if she elopes. Then we'd all have that in common too! How funny is that!? I texted Tony about this tonight while I was at work and his response made me giggle, he wrote: "So is that a pre req to be in the club? Hehe." I loved his reply. {Here's an odd thought: notice how all our names also start with a consonant? No 1st letter vowels for us chickies! -I can't help it, I'm on a roll...har har.}

So I stayed up pretty late Sunday night too... into the wee early morning hours. Does 4:40am count as WEE? haha.

Ok I'm starting to babble... next subject...

Ok so, at work today, it was a pretty good day for the most part. Could've been better of course, but I'm not complaining... remember my challenge? lol. (Maybe I need to put at least a dollar in a jar- hmmm- NOTE TO SELF: Remember my challenge? lol again)

Anyway, I was a bit frustrated at work today for a number of reasons. Quite a few people are already planning on making the job temporary...and I'm certainly one of them, I just don't know how temporary right now. But that's not why I was frustrated.

I was chatting with a couple co-worker friends today in the break room and I was sharing my frustrations about how I feel the expectations placed on the employees are quite unrealistic and in poor taste for the company. (I learned a few more things about it after talking with Tony) The fact that we have to have a particular number of files done daily... I understand... but the actual number of how many are expected to be completed and certified is just unfair and unrealistic. I'm discovering, through conversation, a bit of eavesdropping (YES I eavesdrop...watch out for me Ya'll...lol) and observation...I'm learning that employees are much less accurate with certifying the files when in a rush to complete the number of files expected to be processed daily... and it creates a constant circulation of the same files to be re-corrected on a regular basis! (Oh and guess by whom...that's right not the person who started the file! Dang it! and I know this, because I've had a good number of them myself!)

It was also mentioned to me today by a reliable source, haha, I've always wanted to say that (ALSO another reason socializing at work is a good thing!)... that employees have found a way to create the appearance of completed and certified files by certifying the file in one program that shows it has been certified when in reality the work that needs to actually be processed for the file on another program is incomplete. Now this brings up the issue of not only unethical practice. This also makes it unfair for those who are working honestly and yet the employees of honest work will show lower numbers of files processed and certified even though the accuracy may be good or excellent.

And lastly, a tip was brought to my attention when I first started working on the floor... and I started doing the same thing because -by golly - I need to produce numbers too! This tip is that by grabbing a file (as they only come one at a time on this program) and opening it up and immediately placing it on hold, then another and so forth until a greater number of files have been placed on hold for processing/certifying. NOW what this creates is (darn it I'm forgetting the terms Tony used... my walking dictionary, encyclopedia and any textbook you can dream of lol JK Tony sweetie...as I've told you before -this is a big time HUGE compliment-LuvYa) ummm what was that term? ... anyway... bad business practice because now employees are competing one with another and it steers away from teamwork and unity among employees and a company. That's about as best I can remember to state it. But yah, ... so now I'm doing it too and now that I realize what I'm doing - I don't like it. So it bugs me. What am I going to do about it? Well, I'm thinking since my annual appraise (I think that's how it was put in my email by Ms. A) ...anyway, I'm thinking about bringing it up - but then again, it's pointless, as really - what good is it for little ol' me (who sits at the bottom of the totem pole in this company-esp only being there since just after Thanksgiving) - which it won't make any difference at all saying anything - probably even a waste of time because mostly it's like talking to a brick wall when it won't change anything.

That totally bugs me too... because I am a firm believer in speaking one's mind and using our voices! I do believe that one person can indeed make a difference... but I also believe 'why argue with a fool?' ya know? Argh. So here I am venting a bit on my blog page.

So I labeled this blog "This crazy world of ours" because it truly is crazy! Crazy in all different meanings of the word. Crazy stupid, crazy people, crazy business, crazy love, crazy fun, crazy sad, crazy mad... you get the drift I'm sure.

Despite all this venting... I'm well aware that with every positive there is a negative to balance all this craziness. So I do love where I work because I work with great people and I love the environment overall. It's a non-stressful environment by appearance, which helps keep my headaches to a minimum with the dimmed lights and no phone on my desk, on the contrary though, it is stressful by the type of work I perform and the expectations put on us employees. I hope those of you who do visit my blog and actually read my blogs... will know that simply stating the facts...and letting a little of frustration out. I'm not complaining, just releasing a bit of frustration on my blog.

I will admit though, all of this in one day... has certainly made me think even more about Burbank! That is appearing all the more appealing to me right now. I'm going to need to start preparing for my lease ending in April and looking for a room for rent to downsize before I head out to fulfill my dreams in CA! (http://mud.edu/)

Well I'm off to work on my writing exercises. Please feel free to take a peek at my other blog if you're interested in all my crazy writings... tee hee it's at

G'nite ya'll and hugz :)

(OH and PS for any of you smart asses... LOL... I know this is super long, THIS IS MY THERAPY cost effective style and it works for ME! LMAO! So HAH!) Tee hee :)

If/when I do elope... depends on where it will be, but I'd love to have at least my family there and vice versa.

I just don't want the BIG ceremony ordeal and having to have tons of people all gawking at me! I couldn't do it..I'd be the runaway bride for sure!

But YES, I'd love to have immediate family there! I've even considered having family present where-ever it would be.

Course, it would be my dream to have it be just me and my love but I do agree that it would be uncool to not have family present.

My friend Laura/Eric did indeed have their children, their parents and grandparents present too. I've been to such small ceremonies and I prefer that if I don't do a quickie elopement just two of us... I'd still like to keep it very very small. I prefer intimate and special. I want the day I do wed to be one I shall never forget, and precious.

I don't want any stress present or involved with prepping. I want it to be a happy time and one filled with love and happiness as it should be. So I have very strong feelings about it.

Thank you so both so much for letting me know how much you want to be present. That means a lot to me. And it's not that I don't know that, it's just nice to hear/or in this case see written.

Anyway as for Kimber and Chuck I don't know if they had any family present or not as I haven't talked to her yet. I just received a text from her on Sat afternoon/evening letting me and SWAT gals know that they did it, and DO NOT DISTURB! Haha.

I'll find out soon enough when we all hook up again for our SWAT gal time as we will be soon for Valentine's Day I believe... of course it may not be on that day.. but near it. We plan to have a chocolate fest! Tee hee :)

Oh yah, Spencer was just itty bitty small when Andrea and I used to dance/sing to Eddie Rabbitt on a record player in Mom/Dad's room! Heehee.

Thanks for the compliments!

LuvLuv,
Christy
