2nd Attempt -S.A.T. test

Hello, hello...

I wrote a long post earlier today and for some reason, it didn't save and I didn't have time to re-type it all.

So here is my 2nd attempt. Ergh. :)
Anyway, in response to Wendy's question about how it went...

Well, I don't know yet. The results will be posted online on Oct 23rd. Mailed out on Oct 31.

I may need to retake the test and that is ok. I overheard two gals talking, while there were about 100 or so other students and myself waiting to be let into the building of where we would take the test... and these two gals were discussing someone they knew who had already taken the S.A.T. test multiple times until she got a perfect score of 2400 as this person would be attending an Ivy League school or at least a school where she'll be going from 6-8 years of schooling. So, I started thinking that if I don't pass, I'd definitely retake...as I need to get over 1040 or 1050 (something like that for ASU) and if I don't... I'll definitely aim for a much higher score the next time around.

I'm also considering scheduling to take the A.C.T. test additionally if I need to retake the S.A.T. -that way I have a higher possibility of reaching a score of what is required for ASU to be able to attend. So I plan to get into ASU one way or another and if I have to wait a few more months, then so be it.

I will keep you all posted as I am.

Have a beautiful day tomorrow and catch you all later :)

My luv,
Christy :)

Great attitude! How did you feel about the test? Was it hard? Easy? A lot of guessing and nerves or did you feel okay about it?

Hey Christy, this is Ally, from Diet Divas. I just wanted to leave you a note and tell you how fantastic it is that you are taking the SAT and working so hard to reach your goals. You have a wonderful attitude . Also, random, but, when I took the ACT and SAT, I found the ACT to be easier (for me, personally), and I got a higher score on that--so, I would say that you should definitly look into the ACT too.

And... you had suggested the Disney Princess Half Marathon to us Divas a while back and I'm preparing for a 6 mile race in December and really would like participate. Do you have a training schedule that you follow or anything? If you do, could you please send me any reccomendations on training for a half marathon?
Thanks!

Hmmmm, ok well, first of all, I was SUPERRRRR nervous about the S.A.T. and I only had maybe 3 hours of sleep before I left home and on my way to stop at Starbuck's and get my double shot of espresso/chai frap coffee based treat (to help keep me alert for the SAT test) and a cheese danish for breakfast fuel! :)

I had plenty of time to sit, eat and enjoy my frap while we all waited to be granted access into the building where the SAT test would take place. Everyone around me (all the students etc) and myself waited nervously :)

Some chatted with others they knew or didn't know... as many came from different schools to take the test. There were maybe a select few who were older like me. Talk about fun hahah lol. I didn't care though... I'm all about education and learning so I could careless, though it was a little weird. lol.

I realized how much I miss the learning environment and being in school. So I was a bit excited too. I started to feel anxious and excited to pass the test. I can't wait to go to ASU and be a student of learning ;)

I really did feel like the girl in the cartoon photo I posted the night before or a day or so before the SAT test. I wanted to bite all my fingernails and toenails, and start pulling hair. I was super terrified because I hadn't had much time to study. (Wendy I know you'll disagree about making time for things... lol) However, I had been to Cali for vacation, broke up with Tony officially, moved out of my place I was renting only a day after returning from Cali / half marathon at Disneyland trip... and into a different place where I'm now renting a room from my dear friend Alain again.

Not to mention, preparing to start training for a different department at work and putting in excessive hours of overtime at work, before I took the test on Oct 4th.

Well, I'm out of time and must get ready for work to not be late... I'll write more tonight to respond to other comments left and questions. Real quick though, I really don't know how I did on the test. I wish I had studied a lot more, as there were a ton of things I had forgotten. I did spend two hours with my friend Brad the weekend prior to the test going over a ton of math problems and I had forgotten a lot of what he helped me with (his dad was a math teacher/professor and he's a real wiz with math! he was a great help) though I had wished I was able to focus more on studying and put more time into it.

There were a lot of questions on the test I had to leave blank. I was rather unhappy about it, and scrambled through my head to remember how to do such problems but I was blank. So I left the problems I had no clue about completely blank and didn't even chance guessing. I remember reading in the SAT book not to guess on ones that I would be clueless about, but ones that I could eliminate answers and leave two to guess from... then make an educated guess.

So we'll see how I did when I get my results. I'm really thinking I do need to retake the test. And that is ok with me. Now I know what to expect come test day... and the nerves will be gone about that... plus how the whole testing procedure works.

It was super weird sitting in a high school environment with high school students... that I won't elude from.. ha ha

Oh the essay part of the SAT was a breeeeeeze for me! I wrote that darn essay in the time allotted and was able to finish a min or two before the instructor said STOP. I was so proud of myself. Though I know writing is my strong point... I knew the essay would be helpful in my score if needed, however, I really need to focus on the math/reading sections.

More later, gotta jet,
LuvLuv,
Christy

PS... Ally, I'll respond to your comment tonight or tomorrow k. :)
