4th of July fun

Hope you all had a fun 4th of July and are enjoying your holiday weekend thus far. I went with T and a few friends to the ball game last night (Dbax vs Padres) and unfortunately we lost. It was a very slow game and no one was winning for awhile. Then Padres were winning (sorry I don't remember the scores) and we had all bases full etc. It was amazingly bad. Lol. I couldn't believe how crazy it was when none of those guys on bases actually made it to home base. My memory is so poor that I don't even really recall what happened in detail, but it was weird some of the things that did happen. I don't know the names of the players etc, so it's hard for me to give details, but for example such things as one player not being where supposed to be and another missing a catch or something, or one player stealing a base, multiple things occuring during the game. I'd turn my head and be socializing or something and all of a sudden something odd would happen and the crowd would be in disarray. And I would hear something strange happened. Weird game. Lol.

However, we had a blast nonetheless!

Before all this, T picked me up at 2:50pm and we headed out to pick up my friend Alain who joined us since we had an extra ticket. We met up with T's friend Scott/his fiance Michelle, Michelle's Mom, and three of their friends at Cooperstown (Alice Cooper's restaurant) downtown Phoenix walking distance from Chase stadium. We had a marvie dinner -each of us in our own delightful heaven as all of our food was tasty and delicious. T had his yummy BBQ ribs and slices of turkey breast with a side of BBQ beans and coleslaw. He was on Cloud 9 with his yummy dish. :) Alain ordered the corned beef sandwich that included sauerkraut and looked mighty good. I ordered the fish tacos and oh my gosh were they ever so scrumptious. Talk about meaty fish! I was swimming in my own pool of heaven too. Alain and I both enjoyed the same sides of french fries and mandarin oranges. I know strange combo, but I'm telling ya, it sure sounded good as hot as it was yesterday and it tasted as good too. And Alain said her sandwich was super good too. It was a fun atmosphere as it was super packed with loud music, but not too loud to be heard in conversation which was nice. It was certainly a happenin' place! After that we were off to the game!

T-shirts were being handed out -so we each were given a free t-shirt and it looks awesome! We didn't get any pictures taken, too involved in all the fun! So I don't have any to share. I'm tellin' ya, I will need to upgrade my cell phone to a camera phone so I can take more photos soon.

There was a fantastic energy at the ball game! Completely sold out! There were over 49,000 (again I don't remember exact number) and the stadium itself holds 45,000 ticket holders. There was standing room only places used up too. It was a packed house, I'm tellin' ya! It was so cool.

There were 5 marines in uniform at the game only like 5 rows in front of us and when they first arrived the audience went wild. The just stood in the aisle as the audience hooted, howled and gave praise and honor to them. It was awesome.

When the pre-game events started, I was walking around the place trying to find a coke drink for T, when I finally learned there were no coke products in the entire place as Pepsi is a sponsor (lesson learned lol). In the meantime, the pre-game events started. There were military leaders on the field and military men were being awarded The Purple Heart award. It was very cool.

Halfway through the game, at least if I remember right it was halfway ...songs were played on the screen with words so all could join in ... and we all sang together a patriotic song and then of course the famous ball game TAKE ME OUT TO THE BALL GAME song. That was fun.

After the game ended, the top of the dome was pulled back and opened so we could all move forward and onto the field up to a point before the grass starts etc., and the fireworks show started for us. I have found a video of what we saw last night. It was really cool. At one time the song that we all love and I'm posting that on here too, played during the fireworks (among many other songs too) however, this particular song when it played EVERYONE in the stadium (remember this is a full house) sang this together and I had to stop Alain and T from singing to tell them to listen to the crowd... talk about amazing. The energy was so abundant last night. I was filled with love and peace and it filled the air around us. A truly wonderful experience :)

God Bless the USA song we all sang together at Chase field last night during fireworks:

Happy Independence Day everyone! :)
